About COST

COST – European Cooperation in the field of Scientific and Technical Research – is one of the longest-running European instruments supporting cooperation among scientists and researchers across Europe. COST is also the first and widest European intergovernmental network for coordination of nationally funded research activities.

COST mission is to strengthen Europe in scientific and technical research through the support of European cooperation and interaction between European Researchers. It also aims to maximise European Synergy and added value in non-competitive and pre-normative research. COST has 34 member countries and enables scientists to collaborate in a wide spectrum of activities grouped under nine key scientific Domains. ...read more

COST Open Call

The next collection date for Preliminary Proposals will be 26 September 2008, 17:00 (Brussels time). COST invites proposals for new COST Actions contributing to the scientific, economic, cultural or societal development of Europe. Proposals playing a precursor role for other European programmes involving young groups’ ideas are especially welcome. ...read more

25/07/2008 - COST participates in ESOF 2008

Professor Francesco Fedi, President of the COST Committee of Senior Officials (CSO), participated in the Euro Science Open Forum (ESOF) held in Barcelona from 18 to 22 July 2008. He was accompanied by Professor John Bartzis, Vice President of the COST CSO, by Dr Martin Grabert, Director of the COST Office, and by Ms Inge De Prins, COST PR and Communications Manager.
